All-SEC guard Talaysia Cooper commits to Ole Miss
OXFORD – Former Tennessee guard Talaysia Cooper – the Lady Volunteers’ leading scorer each of the last two seasons – has committed to Ole Miss, she announced on social media Wednesday. Cooper averaged 16. 3 points per game in her two seasons at Tennessee and was a second-team All-SEC pick in 2025-26.
She began her career at South Carolina and was a five-star recruit in the 2022 class. Cooper is rated as the third-best player in the transfer portal by CBS Sports. She will be a redshirt senior.
Cooper scored 20 or more points in seven games last season, including a season-high 30 in a loss at Ole Miss. She scored 10 points or more in all but four games last season. The Rebels are coming off their fifth straight NCAA Tournament appearance under head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin but will lose several key pieces in the offseason, including first-team All-SEC forward Cotie McMahon, forward Christeen Iwuala, forward Latasha Lattimore and guard/forward Debreasha Powe.
Ole Miss defeated Gonzaga in the first round of the 2026 NCAA Tournament before falling to Minnesota in the Round of 32.
