Schefter: Rams and Eagles were closer to A.J. Brown trade than people realized
Adam Schefter revealed just how close the Rams and Eagles were to getting a deal done for A.J. Brown.
Les Snead and Sean McVay both confirmed that the Los Angeles Rams and Philadelphia Eagles discussed a potential trade involving A. J. Brown .
The Rams explored trading for him – and subsequently, trading away Davante Adams – but a deal never came to fruition. It was previously reported by Dianna Russini of The Athletic that the Rams and Patriots both made “strong pushes” for Brown, but on Wednesday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter went a step further. He reported that the Rams and Eagles were “further along at one point than people realized,” an indication of just how close Los Angeles came to striking a deal for Brown.
Schefter was even waiting to report it because he thought it was going to get done. “The way I do my job is I weigh in when there are things that matter and when there’s news,” Schefter said on 97. 5 The Fanatic.
“There have been plenty of trade talks that have gone on that I’ve known about. Let’s put it this way, how about this? The Eagles and Rams were further along at one point than people realized.
