•Yahoo Sports

BYU's Robert Wright III has entered the transfer portal, and he is one of the top guards currently available on the market.

BYU Cougars fans will likely have to get used to a completely retooled roster ahead of the 2026-2027 college basketball season. Guard Robert Wright III has entered the transfer portal, opening up the possibility for him to play for three schools in three consecutive seasons. Wright III became an extremely important player for the Cougars after senior Richie Saunders tore his ACL this season.

The skilled backcourt player forced defenses to think twice about doubling star freshman AJ Dybantsa, as Wright III shot 41 percent from long range this season. He averaged over 18 points per game, to go along with nearly five assists per contest. Wright becomes on of the top guards in the portal!

Kentucky is reportedly interested in Wright III playing a major role in their backcourt next season. USA TODAY Sports has Wright III pegged as the fourth-best available player in the transfer portal as of April 8.
