In a recent interview, Jeremiah Smith called himself the best college football player in the country. Is he right? The numbers sure think so.

Jeremiah Smith the best player in college football? Is this a hot take? Not really.

Here at Buckeyes Wire , we have been singing Smith’s praises for years. He could have been the first overall pick in both this year’s and last year’s NFL Draft. The 6’3 rising junior from Miami Gardens, Florida, has been sensational in his two years of college football, and now he is finally saying it himself that he believes he is the best player in the nation.

In a recent interview with On3’s Chris Low, Smith spoke confidently about his abilities . "I feel like everybody in the world would take me in a heartbeat. Nobody in college football is better than me when I’m at my best," Smith said.

"I don’t think people would even think about who they would take if it was up for grabs. I think everybody knows who the best player in college football is, and it’s Jeremiah Smith. " Smith did not shy away from calling himself the nation’s best, and while some might see it as bold or even arrogant, the numbers back him up.
