Two UDFAs the Saints Could Go After the 2026 NFL Draft

For every NFL fan, the draft is an exciting time because of the potential to add stars to the roster. Free agency is great, but the draft is a much cheaper way for teams to upgrade, and that is not the only way. After the draft, any player who was not selected will hit undrafted free agency, and teams have the oppurtunity to sign young players to fill roster spots.

The New Orleans Saints are known as one of the best teams in the NFL at finding UDFA starters. Just to name a few, Carl Granderson, Rashid Shaheed, Juwan Johnson, Pierre Thomas, and more are all success stories for the Saints. Although it doesn't happen every offseason, it's always a fun time to see who the Saints bring in, and every player has a chance to become an important part of the Saints' roster.

Here are two options the Saints could have in this year's UDFA class. QB Tommy Castellanos The Saints and Kellen Moore have made it known that they are interested in adding QBs to the roster this offseason, just like they had last year. If you remember, the Saints had Spencer Rattler, Tyler Shough, Jake Haener, and Hunter Dekkers throughout the preseason.

Although there was more uncertainty about that room, it still makes sense for the Saints to have as many dart throws as possible on the roster, maybe to find a starting QB to trade or a good backup. That is where Tommy Castellanos comes into play. The Florida State QB was one of the most dynamic passers in college football.
