The South African youngster has been sidelined since the start of the season due to a side strain sustained during a training session, forcing him to miss CSK’s opening matches. However, head coach Stephen Fleming recently confirmed that Brevis is progressing well in his rehabilitation and is expected to return to the playing XI soon, potentially as early as April 11 against Delhi Capitals.

Brevis was retained by CSK for Rs 2. 20 crore ahead of IPL 2026 and remains an important part of their middle-order plans. He had an impressive stint in the previous season after joining as a replacement player, scoring 225 runs at a strike rate of 180.

His absence has been felt in the early part of the campaign, but recent visuals of him training and participating in warm-up drills suggest that his recovery is on track.
