Broncos named a potential landing spot for 6-time All-Pro

Although it seems NFL free agency news has died down for the most part, there are still talented free agents on the market who could be ready at a moments' notice to jump into any team's lineup. In a breakdown of one free agent every team could still sign, Bleacher Report's Gary Davenport recently postulated that the Denver Broncos could benefit by signing six-time All-Pro linebacker Bobby Wagner. Davenport believes Denver's linebacking corps could see a boost from the 14-year veteran .

"At this point in his 14-year professional career, Bobby Wagner isn't the force he once was—the 2025 season was just the second time the 35-year-old didn't make the Pro Bowl in well over a decade," Davenport wrote for B/R . "But the last time he failed to record 130 tackles in a season was also a decade ago, and he wasn't terrible in coverage in two years in Washington, posting a passer rating against under 90 both years. Wagner wouldn't be especially expensive, and the 10-time Pro Bowler would likely relish taking a run at a second Super Bowl win.

" Wagner was part of the Seattle Seahawks ' "Legion of Boom" defense which dismantled the Peyton Manning-led Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII. Wagner has also proved to be a constant thorn in the Broncos ' side: in his most recent game against Denver in 2025, Wagner picked off a Bo Nix pass as a member of the Washington Commanders . Nix would get the last laugh, winning a 27-26 primetime overtime thriller.

Carter Bahns of CBS Sports agreed with Davenport . Wagner's tackling prowess can be compared to Alex Singleton, and he is still a serviceable cover man. This combination may be intriguing, especially on a one-year deal.
