Boston is "known to be interested" in Antetokounmpo, according to The Athletic's Sam Amick . People around the league are reportedly discussing the Celtics as a potential landing spot for the two-time MVP. Of course, other teams would pursue Antetokounmpo if the Bucks make him available.
Amick noted that the Miami Heat, Golden State Warriors, Minnesota Timberwolves and New York Knicks all examined a potential deal before the deadline and could "certainly" try again, barring a successful postseason run. Amick also floated the Orlando Magic, Atlanta Hawks, Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Lakers as possible trade candidates. The Celtics seem like a curious fit with Jaylen Brown and a returning Jayson Tatum already forming one of the league's most dangerous duos.
Boston already brandishes the star power and depth to enter the postseason as a potent threat in the Eastern Conference. Yet it's not often an opening arises to acquire an All-NBA superstar. With the Bucks eliminated from the playoffs and ESPN's Shams Charania diving into Antetokounmpo's deteriorating relationship with the organization, trade speculation will likely resurface this offseason.
