Oklahoma's promising blue-chip forward to enter the transfer portal
One of the Oklahoma Sooners most promising players intends to enter the transfer portal per reports.
The transfer portal is open in men's college basketball, and the Sooners have already seen several players make their intentions known. Jeff Nwankwo , Andreas Holst , and Jake Hansen are gone, but perhaps the biggest loss at this point is forward Kuol Atak. Atak, a Haltom City, Texas product, was a four-star prospect coming out of high school and displayed an ability to stretch the floor with his outside shooting.
Atak played in 24 games for the Sooners and averaged seven points and 12. 4 minutes per game. He was particularly impactful in nonconference play when he had seven games with at least 10 points, including a 24-point outburst against Mississippi Valley State.
He had a strong game against Ole Miss in the Sooners' SEC opener, scoring 14 points on 5-of-10 shooting, including 4-of-9 from three. He also had 18 points against Georgia when he went 6-for-7 from beyond the arc. Atak's going to have a strong landing spot with his ability to shoot from the outside.
The Sooners will have a significant part of their rotation to replace with Nijel Pack, Tae Davis, Mohamed Wague, and Jadon Jones out of eligibility. NEWS: Oklahoma forward Kuol Atak will be entering the @TransferPortal , Ross Aroyo of Priority Sports told @On3 . The 6-9 freshman shot 41% from three this season.
