Heading into the 2026 NFL season, the Indianapolis Colts rank near the top of a list that they do not want to be a part of.
The Indianapolis Colts rank near the top of a list that they do not want to be a part of. Heading into the 2026 season, the Colts have the third-longest playoff drought in the NFL. The Jets lead the way, having missed the playoffs for 15 consecutive years.
The Falcons haven't made the playoffs in eight years, while the Colts and Saints are tied at five seasons. The last time the Colts made the playoffs was in 2020. At that time, Frank Reich was the head coach and Chris Ballard was still the general manager.
So can the Colts break that dreaded streak this season? John Breech of CBS Sports recently ranked the likelihood that each of these four teams makes the playoffs in 2026. At No.
4 on Breech's list were the Jets. Then at No. 3, he had the Colts, giving the Saints and Falcons a better chance of making the postseason than Indianapolis.
