ESPN provides update on George Paton to Vikings rumors
There had been speculation that George Paton could be a candidate to return to the Vikings, but ESPN's new report indicates otherwise.
Entering the final year of his contract, Denver Broncos general manager George Paton has been name-dropped as a potential candidate for the GM opening with the Minnesota Vikings . A recent report from ESPN's Kevin Seifert suggests those rumblings were unfounded. "There are no indications that Paton is on his way out in Denver or wants to leave," Seifert wrote for ESPN last week .
"ESPN senior national NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler reported that Paton appears set to return, and Broncos coach Sean Payton has expressed hope that Paton will sign a contract extension. " Payton has publicly campaigned for Paton to be re-signed by Denver's front office, and team owner Greg Penner said at the NFL's annual league meeting last month that he's " sure " a deal with Paton will get sorted out. So, it appears that Paton wants to stay, and the club wants to keep him.
An extension seems likely, perhaps sometime after the NFL draft. Social : Follow Broncos Wire on Facebook and Twitter/X ! Did you know : These 25 celebrities are Broncos fans .
