Barcelona offered chance to sign Serie A winger liked by Laporta, could cost €50 million Rafael Leao is a player who has been on the radars of FC Barcelona for quite some time now. The Portuguese international was a target for the Blaugrana not so long ago. The Catalan club moved for him when Nico Williams decided to remain at Athletic Club, but the deal proved impossible despite the player being keen on the move.
At the time, AC Milan were demanding more than €100 million, and Barça’s financial situation did not allow for such spending. Rafael Leao offered to Barcelona Now, though, according to Corriere della Sera (h/t SPORT ), Leao is expected to leave AC Milan due to his disagreement with manager Massimiliano Allegri, and his services have already been offered to several European clubs, including Barcelona. The Portuguese international has had an inconsistent season, marked by ups and downs and incidents within the dressing room.
Allegri has not considered him a guaranteed starter, and Milan are looking to generate funds and reduce their wage bill by offloading the highest earner in the squad. Barcelona aware, but Leao not a priority Leao has long been admired by Barcelona president-elect Joan Laporta, and when the club previously attempted to sign him, super-agent Jorge Mendes acted as an intermediary. The Catalans are fully aware of the situation surrounding Leao’s future but have not taken any steps, and all indications suggest they will not do so this summer. It is true that Barcelona may need a left winger in the summer if Marcus Rashford is not signed permanently.
