Rory McIlroy’s ‘really awkward moment’ ahead of The Masters Champions Dinner in 2025

After McIlroy bogeyed the 13th hole at Augusta National during the final round of The Masters in 2025, it seemed like he would come up short yet again. However, the Northern Irishman bounced back and finally got his hands on a highly-coveted green jacket.

Now he will be desperate to defend the title he won last year.

One thing’s for sure, he can always be safe in the knowledge that he will be part of the Champions Dinner at Augusta National for as long as he likes. McIlroy responded when asked how hard it was over the past 15 or so years to watch some of his peers and biggest rivals head off to the Champions Dinner every Tuesday night during Masters week.

“ Not great, “ McIlroy admitted. “ I wish I was a part of it. I tell this pretty funny story about last year myself and Justin Rose actually went for dinner at the club last year on the Tuesday night with a few of the Augusta National members, and the way — it was weird, I was pulling up Magnolia Lane, and you get to the circle, and I’m like, well, do I go and park way over at the parking lot?
