Recent history favors North Dakota men's hockey over Wisconsin

Yahoo Sports

There have been no shortage of men's hockey showdowns between the Wisconsin Badgers and North Dakota. Recently, the Fighting Hawks have dominated the series. The Badgers have lost three straight and are just 1-8-1 in their last 10 against North Dakota.

It just so happens that the last time these two teams played on neutral ice was when the Fighting Hawks eliminated the Badgers from the NCAA Tournament . That game took place on March 28, 2014, and saw North Dakota prevail, 5-2. Wisconsin's lone win in the last 10 meetings was on the road in 2015.

The Badgers split a November series against the Fighting Hawks, but little did they expect that 3-1 win would be their last in quite some time. Sure, Wisconsin has only lost three in a row, but it would've been more if not for a 2-2 tie in Madison in 2017. Ultimately, Wisconsin has lost five of the last six meetings between these two teams.

The last meeting between the Badgers and Fighting Hawks took place in Grand Forks on October 14, 2023. It's been nearly three years since North Dakota's 2-0 victory, which just so happened to take place during Mike Hastings first year with Wisconsin.
