The Millers fell to a 1-0 defeat at bottom side Port Vale on Tuesday. Rotherham do still have two games in hand on 21st-placed Blackpool, but have won just one of their past 12 matches.
When asked by BBC Radio Sheffield after the match whether defeat at Vale Park consigned them to going down to League Two, Clark said: "absolutely not". He said: "Eighteen points to play for, but what is certain is that we can't waste a half of football like we did in the first half. "We're not in a position to waste one minute, never mind a half, and we wasted a half.
" Clark added: "We have to be ready to fight again. We've got a huge derby (against Barnsley) at the weekend. That's a big game, not just for us but for the club and the bragging rights.
"(It's) Pointless feeling sorry for ourselves. We've got to deliver, we've got to start getting some wins. " Clark took over from Matt Hamshaw last month on a deal until the end of the season, but has taken just one point from his three games in charge.
