Amari Brown and Zoryana Hughes are FAMU softball’s shining stars this season. And it’s led to a historic program accomplishment for the duo.

Two roles, same impact. Amari Brown and Zoryana Hughes are Florida A&M softball’s brightest stars through the 2026 season. And their multipurpose effects for the Southwestern Athletic Conference East leaders is something that’s seldom found in college softball.

“It’s rare,” FAMU’s second-year head coach Brittany Beall told the Tallahassee Democrat. “We’re thankful that it’s on our side. But it’s just been a blessing to see all the efforts.

Being able to see all the hard work show on the field in front of their fans and their families means the world to me as a coach. ” Brown serves as the Rattlers’ top hitter, starting shortstop, and relief pitcher. The senior from Marianna leads the team’s offensive statbook with 43 hits and 34 runs.

Brown holds a . 381 batting average. A junior from Lake City, Hughes is FAMU’s top pitcher, with 86.
