The Washington Commanders added to their coaching staff.

The Washington Commanders made an addition to their coaching staff on Tuesday, hiring John Glenn as assistant special teams coach. Glenn isn't unfamiliar with Washington, having served as a special teams assistant under special teams coach Larry Izzo in 2024. Glenn spent last season with the Las Vegas Raiders as the linebackers coach.

The 2024 season was Izzo's first as Washington's special teams coordinator, and the Commanders ranked No. 3 in punt return yardage allowed and No. 2 in kickoff return yardage allowed.

When Glenn left to accept the linebackers coach position with the Raiders, Brian Schneider replaced him. However, head coach Dan Quinn revealed in January that Schneider was undergoing cancer treatments. He remains on staff, and Glenn will assist Izzo.
