Eagles Trade Idea Sends A.J. Brown West for Below-Average Return

A. J. Brown continues to be in trade rumors, but the question is what the Philadelphia Eagles want to get in return for him.

It’s tough to say that trading Brown is the perfect outcome, but after his attitude last season and in prior years, it almost feels like something that has to happen. It’ll be tough for the Eagles to get what they probably want for him at this stage, though Howie Roseman is very good at his job and typically makes good trades. In a recent trade idea from Mark Morales-Smith, it wouldn’t be as ideal as most Eagles fans would be hoping for.

In this scenario, the Los Angeles Chargers would receive Brown, while the Eagles bring back Quentin Johnston, along with a 2026 second-round pick and a 2026 fourth-round pick. “Things may have soured between Brown and the Eagles past the point of being able to work things out. If that's the case, then they essentially have to move on from him.

Getting a gifted young receiver and a few draft picks isn't a bad haul,” he wrote. From Philadelphia’s perspective, it’s not a bad return if it is forced into making a move. Johnston is still a young receiver with upside, but he’s not great.

A second and a fourth also aren’t much to write home about. This would be a much better deal for the Chargers and would give Justin Herbert a legit star to throw the football to, unlike anyone he has ever had. “McConkey is a good wide receiver, but he's not a true outside top guy.
