Miami Dolphins Discussion: Trade Up Edition

Yahoo Sports

We ask Miami Dolphins fans for their thoughts on the rumors that the team is looking to trade up in the draft.

(Photo by Perry Knotts/Getty Images) | Getty Images With all of the now glaring holes on the Miami Dolphins’ 2026-2027 roster, I had previously asked about the idea of trading down. The majority of you were in favor of trading down for the right package of picks, or so long as some franchise-defining player did not slide to the Dolphins at spot 11 in the first round.

Now comes the rumors that the team might be looking to trade up to the 7th overall pick currently held by the Washington Commanders. It’s hard to say if this rumor is fact or fiction created by some talking head or other media type that just needed something to write about during the down period. Also, I wonder if this is factual to some degree, if this possibility of trading up comes with some sort of a qualifier, like if the right player were to fall to 7.

The cost of trading up to the 7th overall pick is said to be the Dolphins’ 11th and two 3rd. That, at least to me, seems like a lot to surrender to move up only four spots. So this evening’s question of the day is: Are you in favor of the team trading up four spots in the first round of the draft if they could get the right guy, and if so, who would that guy be in your opinion?

Or do you think that the cost would be too steep for a team with so many glaring holes to fill on the roster? Please share your thoughts and answers in the comments section below-
