Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks have been at odds regarding the star forward’s status for the final stretch of the current NBA season.
While Antetokounmpo has wanted to play, the Bucks have held him out of action since mid-March since they’re eliminated from playoff contention and thus don’t really have anything to play for. According to ESPN’s Shams Charania , Milwaukee’s decision to keep Antetokounmpo on the sideline cost him a major bonus in his endorsement deal with Nike.
Antetokounmpo would have received the bonus had he played in 41 games on the current campaign. However, he played in just 36 games, which represents a career low. "When reached by ESPN on Monday, the Bucks declined to speak on the record for this story," Charania wrote.
