Softball: New coach, new perspective for Montevideo Thunder Hawks

Apr. 7—MONTEVIDEO — Mike Trewick is bringing a fresh perspective to the Montevideo softball team. Trewick, who always dreamt of being an athletic director, is in his first school year at that position with the Thunder Hawks, who hired him as their head softball coach this spring.
After graduating from St. John's University in 1993, Trewick began his coaching career, which included a tenure as the head coach for the St. Mary's University men's basketball team.
He then served as an assistant coach for football, men's basketball and baseball at his alma mater. From there, Trewick coached in St. Cloud, serving as an assistant football coach at Tech and Apollo.
