Dodgers Catcher Trolls Blue Jays Fans After Blowout Win
Los Angeles Dodgers catcher Dalton Rushing took a shot at Toronto Blue Jays fans after LA blew out their 2025 World Series opponents Monday. Rushing said the atmosphere in the opening game of the Dodgers’ three-game set didn’t live up to what it was in the World Series, and said the Dodgers gave Toronto a reason to dislike them. “I wouldn’t say it was Game 6 or Game 7 but it was good, these fans sadly didn’t want to see us come to town and rightfully so after what we did tonight,” Rushing said.

The backup catcher got started back-to-back games on Sunday and Monday, and is tied for the team lead in home runs despite only playing three games. Teoscar Hernandez, Freddie Freeman and Shohei Ohtani also hit home runs in the game.
To make matters even worse for Blue Jays fans, Miguel Rojas—who broke their hearts with a game-tying home run in the top of the ninth inning in Game 7—came in as a pitcher to close the game. With all of these factored in, it’s no wonder Toronto’s crowd didn’t quite get into the game. Despite a clear lack of playing time, Rushing is making the most of his limited opportunity as a backup catcher—a role he’s still getting used to. “Last year, mentally, I was in a tough spot playing the role that I was, and just kind of trying to figure out how you play that role,” Rushing said .
“And this year, I have a little better understanding. “You’re not going to show up and have a game like that tonight. You’re not going to show up and get two hits every game, whether you’re playing every day or you’re playing every three days.
