The basketball world was on fire on Monday when news broke that the Chicago Sky traded star forward Angel Reese to the Atlanta Dream. A former top-10 pick of the Sky in 2024, Reese was sent packing to Atlanta for a pair of first-round picks, one in 2027 and another in 2028. Also included in the deal was the Dream having the right to swap second-rounders with the Sky in 2028.

In the immediate aftermath of the trade, Reese only reacted to it on social media , but she now gave her full reaction to landing in Atlanta in the blockbuster deal. Atlanta Dream, what’s up? I really dreamed of this moment,” Reese said. “I’m just living in my Barbie Dreamhouse.

I’m just having so much fun. Life is good, life is great and I’m excited for this new journey and this new city, and more to come. ” The trade is a big one for the Dream, a team that finished tied for the second-best record in the WNBA last season with the Las Vegas Aces.

Atlanta finished just four games worse then the champion New York Liberty. However, Atlanta saw a disappointing finish to its season after being bounced in the playoffs by the Indiana Fever. Now, the Dream will hope Reese can put them over the top in 2026.
