Former Commanders receiver announces immediate retirement from NFL at 26
Dax Milne, who spent two seasons in the NFL as a wide receiver with the Washington Commanders, announced his immediate retirement from football in a post to his Instagram account April 6. “The opportunities, the life lessons, the price and reward of hard work, and the chance to meet so many inspiring people. I gave you my heart and soul, my blood, sweat, and tears. But you gave me so much more in return.
“Being drafted and playing in the NFL for 4 years was the pinnacle of my journey. Playing alongside the best players in the world is something I will never take for granted. I hope my story can inspire others just like so many players’ examples inspired me growing up.

After he was released by the Commanders in July 2024, Milne signed with the Las Vegas Raiders one week later. In October 2024, Milne signed with the Carolina Panthers practice squad, but did not appear in a game over the next two seasons.
