See where Iowa men's basketball landed in the final AP Top 25 of the 2025-26 season.

IOWA CITY — Iowa men's basketball landed at 15th in the final AP Top 25 of the 2025-26 season. The Hawkeyes also checked in at 19th in the last USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll of the 2025-26 season. Iowa had a successful first campaign under head coach Ben McCollum, finishing the regular season 20-11 overall and 10-10 in Big Ten play.

The Hawkeyes made their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2023. Then, they went on a thrilling March Madness run. As a 9-seed, Iowa has knocked off 8-seed Clemson, 1-seed Florida and 4-seed Nebraska en route to the program's first Elite Eight since 1987.

The Hawkeyes' run came up one step short of the Final Four when they lost to Illinois on March 28. Iowa finished with 24 wins, the most since the 2021-22 season. More: Can Iowa basketball replace Bennett Stirtz?

McCollum's track record gives clues The Hawkeyes are definitely losing Bennett Stirtz and Brendan Hausen from last season's roster. Meanwhile, Tavion Banks' future is unclear. Banks, who went through senior day at Iowa, played four seasons of college basketball.
