Star Alabama forward to reportedly enter NCAA transfer portal

Star Alabama forward Essence Cody has reportedly entered the NCAA transfer portal, per On3's Talia Goodman . Cody played a pivotal role for the Tide this year, as the star forward’s departure will prove to be a massive loss next season. Cody averaged 11.

5 points and four rebounds during her final season at Alabama, as the senior will undoubtedly receive a plethora of interest from numerous teams around the country this offseason. Cody was nothing short of a star throughout her three seasons with the Tide in Tuscaloosa, as the talented forward will now turn her full attention towards landing with a new team following the announcement of her transfer portal plans. Cody started in 22 games with 27 total appearances at Alabama last season.

The senior recorded a career high 23 points along with 11 rebounds against McNeese on Nov. 6, as Cody continued to turn heads on a nightly basis throughout the 2025-26 campaign. The star senior has officially announced her plan to enter the transfer portal, as Cody’s time at Alabama appears to be coming to an end following three excellent seasons in Tuscaloosa.
