Quinnipiac has found its replacement for the legendary Tricia Fabbri. Roman Owen , an assistant at UNLV, will become the school’s next head women’s basketball coach, it announced Tuesday. Owen spent the last six seasons as associate head coach with the Rebels.

He also served as an assistant at Yale from 2015-18. “I would like to thank Greg Amodio and President Marie Hardin for this tremendous opportunity to lead the Quinnipiac women’s basketball program,” Owen said in a statement. “A strong foundation is in place, and I look forward to building on it as we pursue conference championships and postseason success.

Greg and the University’s commitment to competing at a high level was a shared vision and one that is hard to find. I can’t wait to meet the Bobcats and hit the ground running. ” Owen will replace Fabbri, who announced her retirement earlier this month after 31 seasons at the helm.
