Fire up the buses from Fulton
GREENVILLE, SOUTH CAROLINA - MARCH 19: Gavin Doty #4 of the Siena Saints brings the ball up court while guarded by Nikolas Khamenia #14 of the Duke Blue Devils in the first half during the first round of the NCAA men's basketball tournament at Bon Secours Wellness Arena on March 19, 2026 in Greenville, South Carolina. — Jon Rothstein (@JonRothstein) April 7, 2026 The 6’5 guard out of Fulton, NY averaged 18 points, 6. 9 rebounds and 2. 2 assists per game last season for Siena.
Doty was named First-Team All-MAAC and was the MAAC Tournament MVP as Siena earned the automatic bid and then gave the Duke Blue Devils all they could handle in the NCAA Tournament. In some welcome news for Syracuse fans, he’s also a career 83. 6% free throw shooter.
Sam will have a lot more about how his game could translate to ACC play, but Doty’s going to be the player McNamara will use to instill his culture with the Orange. He’s going to have to become more effective from 3 as he moves up a level, but he’s a smart player who isn’t going to back down to anyone as demonstrated against Duke last month.
