Just when it looked like the Bruins were getting hot at the right time -- winning six out of seven against strong competition to end March -- Boston is winless in April, dropping three straight. Last time out, the Bruins tried to shake things up on the lineup card. Head coach Marco Sturm went back to putting struggling star center Morgan Geekie on the top line with captain David Pastrnak and Pavel Zacha.
The move did not pay off as the Bruins were once again held to just one goal in an overtime loss to the Philadelphia Flyers. Sturm spoke to reporters after the game about the decision to put Geekie on the first line. “I just didn’t like the way it went a little bit the last few games with David (Pastrnak) and the young kids,” Strum said.
“And also, we needed to get Geeks going. I think that was the biggest point. “They’ve played together and… this is the time now.
