Is the World Cup happening in New Jersey or New York? "Welcome to New York New Jersey, where the beautiful game lives in our streets and our souls," the game's website reads. The World Cup will host eight games at MetLife Stadium, which is being branded as New York New Jersey Stadium for the event.
MetLife Stadium is in East Rutherford, New Jersey, right outside of the city. Over 1. 2 million fans are expected to be in the area for the games, meaning New York City has to plan accordingly for the event, too.
