How much Manchester United need to spend to secure deal for Elliot Anderson Manchester United used the bulk of their budget to reinforce their attack last summer. They signed forwards Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko from Wolverhampton Wanderers, Brentford and RB Leipzig respectively. Bolstering midfield is United’s main priority in the upcoming transfer window , with Casemiro leaving and Manuel Ugarte facing an uncertain future in Manchester.

The Red Devils want to make Elliot Anderson their marquee summer signing , but a hefty fee could be a major stumbling block. According to Florian Plettenberg , Nottingham Forest are asking a fee in the region of £100-120 million for their star midfielder. Manchester City have also registered an interest in Anderson, who is contracted at the City Ground until 2029.

Although the Citizens’ current focus is said to be on extending Rodri’s contract. Anderson is widely regarded as one of the best midfielders in Europe. He has only turned 23 but has started all 31 Premier League matches for Forest this season.

He is highly rated for his energy, versatility and technical ability. His key strengths are his dribbling, passing and defensive play. However, United will be wary of spending £120m for Anderson, which would make him one of the most expensive Premier League signings.
