Notre Dame Academy's Madison Scheinberg was recognized by the NHL Coaches Association Female Coaches Program for coaching at the youth level.
HINGHAM โ Madison Scheinberg, the assistant coach for Notre Dame Academy's varsity hockey team in Hingham, has been recognized by the NHL Coaches Association Female Coaches Program, recognizing outstanding female coaches at the youth level. Scheinberg, who was nominated for the program in August of 2025, is among a group that includes some of the most experienced female hockey coaches, such as Jessica Campbell, coach for the Seattle Kraken and the first female coach in the NHL. The NDA girls hockey team, led by Scheinberg and head coach Bill Burke, compiled a 14-2-3 record and the top spot in the MIAA power rankings.
The team advanced to the MIAA Division 1 Final Four. โThroughout the season, this young team balanced positivity, trust, and high performance. They reflected a message lived out by their coaches at each practice and in each game," NDA president Annemarie Lynch Kenneally said.
In addition to her coaching responsibilities, Scheinberg serves as the health and wellness coordinator at NDA, focusing on school-wide wellness initiatives. She works with NDA girls in grades 6-12, helping them learn how to be strong, confident, and resilient in every aspect of their lives. โI want to inspire the next generation of female leaders and build a culture where girls are valued as people first, fully supported and empowered to become confident, resilient leaders who embrace challenges,โ Scheinberg said.
Scheinberg earned her bachelor of science in biology and psychology from Suffolk University, where she balanced academics with five years of NCAA competition in both ice hockey and golf. She also holds a masterโs degree in sport psychology. This story was created by reporter Dylan Jespersen, DJespersen@usatodayco.
