Yahoo Sports

The Browns have inked deals with six restricted free agents, and among them is kicker Andre Szmyt, who put together a rock solid season in 2025.

The Cleveland Browns , continuing to build out their 90-man roster ahead of offseason workouts, have signed deals with six exclusive rights free agents. The six players returning to Cleveland, at least to compete for a spot on the 53-man roster this upcoming summer, are tight end Brenden Bates, kicker Andre Szmyt, wide receivers Malachi Corley and Jamari Thrash, linebacker Winston Reid, and long snapper Rex Sunahara. This comes after the Browns also signed veteran defensive back Myles Bryant to a free agency deal.

The one restricted free agent who has not signed his tender yet, however, is starting safety Ronnie Hickman Jr. The former Ohio State standout is allowed to go out and negotiate terms of a deal with another team, then bring that deal back to the Browns with a chance to match it. Browns' special teams core remains intact Perhaps the biggest name that was signed here is kicker Andre Szmyt.

After an abysmal Week 1 performance, Szmyt bounced back and put together a stellar season in Cleveland. He even faced his demons, making a game-winning kick against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 18, the team he missed a game-winner against in Week 1. Long snapper Rex Sunahara rejoins the fold as well after replacing long-time Brown Charley Hughlett in 2024.

Punter Corey Bojorquez re-signed with the Browns this offseason as well, meaning the Browns now have their trio of special teamers all back from a year ago. This article originally appeared on Browns Wire: Browns sign six total restricted free agents; bring back K Andre Szmyt
