Former Auburn assistant and current Florida head coach Todd Golden reflected on his time with Bruce Pearl during TNT's Final Four coverage

Florida Gators men's basketball head coach Todd Golden reflected on his time working on Bruce Pearl's staff at Auburn . During the Final Four, TNT had Todd Golden and Bruce Pearl on their coverage. Golden was asked about his time working for Pearl's staff in Auburn.

"You can't fake caring about people," Golden spoke on what makes Pearl's players want to play for him . "The amount time and energy that Pearl and the rest of his staff spent with the guys. They learn very quickly in their time at Auburn that he had their backs" Spending two seasons on the Plains under Pearl, Golden joined the staff in Pearl's first season in 2014-2015.

He served as the director of basketball operations for the program. Then he would move to assistant coach the next season before leaving for the University of San Francisco to be their assistant head coach. The two go even further back to when Golden played for the USA Open Team in the Maccabiah Games, a team that was coached by Bruce Pearl.
