The Padres shut out the Pirates 5-0 in a poor pitching performance by right-hander Bubba Chandler. Chandler struggled to remain competitive in the zone, calling his performance “pathetic. ” “Pretty bad.
I mean, it's piss poor. You know, the hits are fine, like it's stuff that's gonna happen, but not competing in the zone is just pathetic and eating at me,” Chandler told SportsNet Pittsburgh . “And you know, I'm gonna fix it, clean it up.
I got five more days before I throw again. And, yeah, you know, it won't happen again. Very pissed off, you know, I hate that we lost, but again, I'm just setting our team up for failure right now with the, you know, guys having to come in out of the [bull]pen, you know, a lot sooner than they should, and stuff I gotta get cleaned up.
