Two players announce return to Rhode Island basketball. Who are they?

Monday saw two University of Rhode Island veterans announce their intended returns to the men’s basketball program for the 2026-27 season. Jonah Hinton and Jahmere Tripp both made announcements on social media in coordination with the team. Each will be back with the Rams after transferring in from Atlantic 10 rivals ahead of last year.
Hinton was the club’s top scorer in three of its best wins during the 2025-26 campaign . Tripp enjoyed 20 games of double figures or more, and URI was just 1-4 in games he missed due to injury. They’ll both be listed as seniors on the roster.
Hinton finished second on the team in scoring at 12. 6 points and added 3. 0 rebounds.
He led the Rams with 76 made 3-pointers and was second with 60 total assists. Hinton started in all but two of his 29 appearances after arriving from St. Bonaventure.
