Another spring high school sports season has sprung in the Greater Taunton area. In the first week and a half , Taunton baseball kicked off its second straight Hockomock Kelley-Rex title defense with three league wins while Taunton volleyball also got off to an undefeated start. Bridgewater-Raynham track had an athlete score a pair of wins in a four-team meet while Bridgewater-Raynham lacrosse scored a key early Pioneer Athletic Conference win and Bristol-Plymouth baseball kicked off a new era under a new head coach.
The Taunton Daily Gazette High School Boys Athlete of the Week for Feb. 16-22 , the final of the Winter 2025-26 season, is Taunton hockey's Braden LaChance, receiving 75% of the vote. Bridgewater-Raynham hockey's Dante Tudor came in second with 23% while Bridgewater-Raynham basketball's Cam Santos received 1% to finish third.
