Kane, of course, is battling an ankle injury he tweaked during training camp with the English national team. “Harry is incredibly important for us, that’s obvious. He’s a huge factor in our game because he’s not just a pure finisher.

He’s an absolute leader, a true role model. He has a special mindset for an attacking player. It would be important for him to be on the pitch to contribute his leadership strengths tomorrow,” Kimmich said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia ).

Mindset, of course, will be key for Kimmich as well. The Germany international and Real Madrid star Vinícius Júnior were at odds during the 2024 Champions League between the squads, but Kimmich says that there is no score to settle. “It’s not about a 1v1 between Vini and myself.

We want to solve everything as a team and collectively. We know that Real Madrid have a lot of quality in their squad. We respect their players, but it’s important that we bring our own strengths to the pitch,” Kimmich said.
