Manager Craig Counsell told reporters that the injury is not significant and that the Cubs are hoping to get Boyd back for a series against the New York Mets that starts on April 17. โ€œWe think we can put this behind him and not have to worry about it, instead of worrying about [the biceps] start to start,โ€ Counsell said, per the Chicago Sun-Times .

Boyd joins fellow starter Cade Horton on the injured list. Horton left his second start of the season early on Friday with forearm discomfort. The Cubs placed him on the injured list Sunday and announced that he was scheduled to undergo further testing on his injured arm .
