The Blue Jays are dealing with a number of injuries as they try to right the ship following a weekend sweet at the hands of the Chicago White Sox.

After getting swept by the Chicago White Sox over the weekend at Rate Field, the 4-5 Toronto Blue Jays return home to Rogers Centre on Monday night for a World Series rematch with the Los Angeles Dodgers. The last time these two teams met at Rogers Centre was in Game 7 of the World Series, which the Blue Jays lost in extra innings. This time the meeting doesn't happen in October, but it does happen at an important time for the Jays, who are already reeling and continue to lose important pieces to injury.

Mitch Bannon of the Athletic has the latest on several Blue Jays: Catcher Alejandro Kirk, who fractured his thumb in Friday's loss to the White Sox , is having thumb surgery. The early estimates are 3-6 weeks for a return, but it's unclear if that means 3-6 weeks until a rehab assignment or 3-6 until back playing for the Jays. Toronto Blue Jays catcher Alejandro Kirk (30) hits an RBI double against in the first inning against the Florida Marlins during spring training at TD Ballpark.

Jonathan Dyer-Imagn Images Starting pitcher Jose Berrios threw a live bullpen on Saturday and felt good, while Cody Ponce, who suffered an ACL sprain in his first start, is at a doctor and the team will know more about possible surgical options soon. Yimi Garcia, coming off elbow surgery is at least a week away from live bullpens. Shane Bieber, who had forearm fatigue this offseason, recently thew a bullpen on Saturday.

Trey Yesavage will aim to throw 60 pitches in his next minor league rehab game. Addison Barger, who left Sunday's game with "bilateral ankle discomfort" could end up on the injured list, but that's to be determined for right now. It’s a long list folks.
