Voting open for SJ County Martin Dentistry Baseball AOTW for March 30-April 4

Each week during the 2025 San Joaquin County high school baseball season, The Record will honor one standout player with the Martin Dentistry Baseball Athlete of the Week award. The winner is decided by you, the readers. The Martin Dentistry award highlights the top performances from 209-area schools.

This week’s March 30-April 4 ballot features six nominees from Stockton, Manteca and Lodi. Everyone is encouraged to submit nominations for the upcoming week to dackermann@gannett. com .

The poll at the bottom of this page closes at noon on Thursday, April 9. There are no voting restrictions, so vote now and vote often. Here are the March 30-April 4 nominees (Athletes listed in alphabetical order by last name) : Alex Preap, infielder/outfielder/pitcher, Tokay For most players, stepping into a defending league champion comes with pressure.

For Alex Preap, it’s looked natural. The sophomore, in his first year on varsity, has quickly become one of Tokay’s most reliable pieces. He went 1-for-3 with two RBIs in an 11-2 win over Franklin on April 1, then followed it up on April 3 by going 1-for-4 and throwing six innings, allowing three hits and three earned runs while striking out six in a 4-3 win to clinch the series.
