The Toronto Blue Jays didn’t waste much time bringing new trade acquisition Tyler Fitzgerald up to the big leagues. Well, they wasted a little time. MORE: Blue Jays All-Star has fractured thumb, immediately placed on injured list Two days after he was acquired in a trade with the San Francisco Giants and optioned to Triple-A Buffalo, Fitzgerald has a locker in the Blue Jays’ home clubhouse, according to multiple reports April 6.

The Blue Jays host the Los Angeles Dodgers later in the day, the first of a three-game World Series rematch. According to multiple reports April 6, the Blue Jays also have a locker for pitcher Josh Fleming. The left-handed reliever, whom the Blue Jays signed to a minor league contract in February, hasn’t pitched in an MLB game since 2024.

MORE: Blue Jays sign two-time All-Star to $1 million contract Fleming started one game at Triple-A Buffalo, allowing one run in 3. 2 innings. He has mostly relieved at the major league level with the Tampa Bay Rays (2020-23) and Pittsburgh Pirates (2024).

In seven spring training games with the Blue Jays (one start), Fleming went 1-1 with a 4. 50 ERA. The roster additions of Fitzgerald and Fleming are not official, but their lockers in Toronto suggest some transactions are coming down the pipe in advance of the Blue Jays’ biggest series of the young season.
