Now it appears that talks are under way between Liverpool and third parties involving the blockbuster signing of Vinicius Junior from Real Madrid. But Vini is also approaching the final year of his current Madrid deal which expiring in summer 2027.
Talks have been deadlocked for over 18 months and Madrid are prepared to move the Brazil international on if no new contract is agreed. There is of course interest in Vini from Saudi Arabia - but Premier League teams including Liverpool have now been contacted about the winger’s potential availability. “Intermediaries have contacted Premier League heavyweights Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea regarding the potential availability of Vinicius Junior this summer,” a report in TEAMtalk reads.
It wouldn’t be cheap by any means with Vini set to gobble up even more of the wage budget than Mo Salah’s £400k per week deal. Vini set for £500k per week contract “As the Brazilian approaches the final year of his current deal, it is understood he is in line to move onto a similar basic salary to Mbappé—excluding signing-on fees, loyalty bonuses and performance-related incentives – which would take his earnings beyond £500,000 per week,” the report reads. Right now it’s unknown what kind of transfer fee Liverpool would have to pay to land Vini.
