Superstar Caitlin Clark shows Cori Close and Gabriela Jaquez some love

Yahoo Sports

UCLA won their first-ever NCAA title on Sunday and the title got star Caitlin Clark to tweet about both head coach Cori Close and Gabriela Jaquez.

It’s always a good thing to win the last game of the season. Not only because that means you’re the champions, it means everyone’s watching you do it too. On Sunday, the UCLA Bruins put on a show for everyone.

Despite South Carolina entering the championship game as favorites over UCLA, the Bruins blew the Gamecocks out of the water with a 79-51 victory , and of course people noticed. One of those people being Caitlin Clark, who carved out a pretty spectacular Big Ten Conference basketball career for herself. Clark’s first message about UCLA and the game was a simple one, with the Iowa legend then giving Bruins head coach Cori Close a heartfelt message.

“Jaquez going crazy. ” Tweeted Clark . The Indiana Fever guard wasn’t wrong.

Jaquez had one of her best, and certainly her most important, game as a Bruin on Sunday. The guard scored 21 points with five assists. Jaquez has been with UCLA her entire college career and will head to WNBA with a championship, something that Clark couldn’t quite accomplish.
