When are the Bears expected to make decision about new stadium site?

The Chicago Bears are expected to come to a decision about the site of their new stadium in the next few weeks, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter . The Bears have narrowed it down to two potential sites: the 326-acre property they own in Arlington Heights, Illinois, or a 340-acre property in Hammond, Indiana, near Wolf Lake. "Two proposed sites in Chicago are not considered feasible, per sources," wrote Schefter.

"Next to Soldier Field for political reasons, and the land known as Michael Reese was evaluated and rejected by the NFL and the Bears. " It's been a long and arduous process since the Bears first purchased the Arlington Heights property six years ago, where they've hit property tax-related roadblocks in the state of Illinois. But if Illinois can't get it done soon, it sounds like the Bears are headed to Northwest Indiana.

"If Illinois doesn’t pass legislation for Arlington Heights soon," wrote Schefter, "sources believe the Bears are likely to be Indiana bound. " Last week, Bears president and CEO Kevin Warren said the organization is aiming to wrap the business side of things up this summer and is targeting a 2030 opening for the new stadium. “If we can get this wrapped up by late spring, early summer, then we have to finish the design, because we want to make sure it’s kind of site-specific,” Warren told Shaw Local News .
