The Enzo Fernandez situation at Chelsea continues to smoulder – he’s been suspended for two games by the club after his international break comments, and his agent has now spoken out against that.
On the London is Blue podcast, they pointed out what they saw as double standards from Chelsea: “Look, he is a moron. And responds in not the best way, that we would hope. He starts talking about Madrid being the closest things to Buenos Aires, etc.

This is bad. ” But Verlaney then goes on to read out Marc Cucurella’s “devastating” interview in the same period where he questioned the whole project at Chelsea. The subtle difference between Enzo and Cucurella’s actions There are plenty of people pointing out that it’s curious Enzo was punished but not Cucurella.
The explanation really is that Enzo is not being punished for his criticism of Chelsea’s project, but for casting doubt on his future and whether he wants to be a part of that project. The fact that Rosenior went out and protected Enzo from criticism after the PSG quotes, and then saw himself undermined by further words from the Argentine probably also changed the equation.
