Determined Patriots LB started workout weeks early to prepare for 2026

Patriots edge defender Harold Landry III has been hard at work behind the scenes in hopes of a strong bounce-back season.

New England Patriots linebacker Harold Landry III is getting an early start on his offseason workouts, as noted by ESPN's Mike Reiss in his Sunday notes column. Despite leading the team in sacks last year, Landry battled a knee injury for most of the 2025 season. He obviously wasn't 100 percent during the season, and those limitations were greatly felt in the postseason.

The veteran defender missed the AFC Championship Game against the Denver Broncos and failed to register a sack in the other three playoff games against the Los Angeles Chargers, Houston Texans and Seattle Seahawks. During the regular season, he led the team with 8. 5 sacks, which leaves some hope that he can reach double digits if he can stay healthy in 2026.

Reiss wrote : "The Patriots ' voluntary offseason program begins April 20, but veteran edge rusher Harold Landry III has already been showing up at the team facility every day in recent weeks. Landry's production dropped off notably after a knee injury in Week 6 last season, with Vrabel sharing his belief that Landry can bounce back in his 10th NFL season. "'I think anybody that watched tape could see Harold before hurting his knee, and then after," he said, adding Landry is "going through the rehab process" and "works his tail off to get back.

'" A healthy Landry would be a strong addition to the Patriots' defense. At the very least, it should help alleviate some of the team's lingering pass-rush issues. Follow Patriots Wire on Twitter and Facebook .
