Gonzaga's wing depth may take a significant hit if Emmanuel Innocenti leaves the Bulldogs.

Gonzaga has gone from Cinderella to national powerhouse thanks in some part to their ability to recruit internationally. Italian swingman Emmanuel Innocenti has established himself as one of the best perimeter defenders in country with the Bulldogs in the last two seasons, but has entered the transfer portal creating an uncertain future. Gonzaga head coach Mark Few lauded Innocenti's motor and willingness to excel on the non-glamourous end of the floor.

"It goes unsaid just his defensive prowess and effort and ability to pressure the ball and just chasing people around for 30 seconds on every possession," coach Mark Few said in February. "We usually put him on their best perimeter player, we're asking a lot out of him [and] he's delivering in a big way. " Gonzagaโ€™s defensive ace becomes the second Zag to enter the transfer portal.

Surprising decision by Emmanuel Innocencti. https://t. co/dLSIY4r7OZ โ€” The Slipper Still Fits (@slipperstillfit) April 5, 2026 Given his skill set and ability to make an impact without the ball, Innocenti would figure to be a strong fit on almost any team looking to beef up its pressure at the head of their defense.
