Blackwell on transfer: ‘Looking for a place I can compete for a national championship’

The Badgers guard shared why he made his decision to transfer.

Blackwell averaged 19.

1 points and 5. 3 rebounds a game this season while being a part of one of the best backcourts in college basketball alongside Nick Boyd. He saw marked improvement with his three-point shooting, hitting 38.

3 percent of his shots beyond the arc, and was a vital piece for the Badgers to bring back. But it wasn’t a surprise when Blackwell made the decision to transfer. He immediately becomes one of the best players available and has received interest from some of the top schools in the country.

Speaking with Borzello, Blackwell said it was a ‘tough decision’ to leave Wisconsin and gave his reasoning for the move. “It’s a tough decision,” Blackwell said. “I’m looking for a place where I can enhance my skills for the NBA and a place where I can compete for a national championship.
