Ike Irish, Orchard Lake St. Mary's product, cracks Baseball America's top 100 prospects

Ike Irish, a former Orchard Lake St. Mary's standout, continues to climb the ladder when it comes to baseball's top prospects. Irish, a Baltimore Orioles prospect who helped St.

Mary's win a Division 1 state championship in 2022 , cracked Baseball America's updated list of top 100 prospects for April, checking in at No. 97. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound Irish, was primarily a catcher at Auburn, but also saw time at first base and right field in 2025 for low Single-A Delmarva.

In high Single-A Frederick's season opener Friday, Irish played first base and went 2-for-5 with a pair of doubles, an RBI and two runs scored. "Irish appears to have moved over to first base, but early returns in the spring lead evaluators to believe that heโ€™ll have the bat to profile at the position," Baseball America senior editor Josh Norris writes . "If thatโ€™s the case, heโ€™ll give Baltimore another part of a young core that now has Samuel Basallo and Dylan Beavers to go along with Gunnar Henderson and Adley Rutschman.

" Irish was selected by the Orioles at No. 19 overall in the 2025 MLB Draft after hitting . 350 at Auburn with 39 homers and 168 RBIs, saving his best for his junior year in 2025, when he led the Tigers in hitting (.

365), home runs (19) and RBIs (58). "Irish is a well-rounded hitter with above-average power and the ability to spray line drives to all fields with some power," Baseball America wrote in its top-100 breakdown. He appeared in 20 games last season for Delmarva, hitting .
